Mars is the only planet in our solar system that we know has had life on it. There are many reasons to buy land on Mars, but there are five steps you should follow if you want to live out your dream and own a part of the Red Planet!
1) Understand what owning a piece of Mars entails:
You cannot just buy a part of Mars from the government for $20. Owning land on Mars is not possible at this time because there will need to be some form of governing body – in addition to the United Nations and/or another group that oversees all Martian property before any person can own a plot! If you’re not interested in waiting, some private companies offer Martian land for sale – but it will come at a high price!
2) Know how much money you’ll need:
$20 million for 10 square kilometers or $4 million per square kilometer. Prices will vary depending on where you want to purchase real estate on Mars and what company you go through.
3) Choose between buying land outright or leasing it from the government:
Buying land outright means that no one can tell you what to do with it, but you are also responsible for all upkeep and maintenance costs. Leasing land from the government means that those costs will be taken care of, but you may not be able to do whatever you want with it.
Leasing is a better option if you don’t have enough money to buy land outright or if you’re not sure yet if you want to stay on Mars permanently.
4) Choose a location on Mars:
The most popular locations for Martian real estate are the poles because they have the fewest dust storms and less radiation. However, they are also the coldest places on the planet!
The equator is another option because it has more moderate temperatures – but there is more potential for dust storms.
5) Find out which companies are selling land on Mars:
There are at least six different private companies that have begun offering real estate on the planet, but some of them only sell plots for research or to people with previous space exploration experience.
The newest company is Martian Land, and it has opened up an office in Beijing, China, where they will be selling plots of land on Mars to Chinese citizens.
It’s also important to know that none of these companies are able to sell you Martian property in the legal sense – they’re just offering a service. It will be up to future governments whether or not this becomes an actual transaction!
If you want your plot on Mars, it’s important to contact the company you’re interested in as soon as possible because many of them are quickly running out of space! In conclusion, if you want to buy a piece of Mars, there are five important steps you need to follow! It’s an expensive process, but it could be well worth it for the opportunity to own a part of the only planet known to have life on it!
